Mailbox Art Space
The process of finding it feels like a treasure hunt game on Melbourne city.
Formerly known as Mailbox 141, the exhibition space of this tiny little gallery is a set of nineteen heritage mailboxes set against the foyer wall of Pawson House, each fitted with glass-fronted doors and LED lights. You wouldn’t noticed there is a tiny gallery in the building if you are not especially there to find it.
This is a alternative public art space that supports artistic experimentation and the exhibition of new work. Different artists are always invited to apply. Moreover, the content of the exhibition is often interesting. You can visit mail box official website http://www.mailboxartspace.com.au/ to check out their current and upcoming exhibitions.
Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 10am–5.30pm, Saturday 10am–5pm, Sunday 11am–4pm.
Entry: free
Location: 141-143 Flinders Lane (in foyer of the building), Melbourne, Victoria 3000, Australia
Public Transport: You can catch the Free City Circle Tram (routes 3, 16, 67) to the City Square/Collins St Stop and walk about 4 minutes. The Mailbox Art Space is about 4 minutes walk from Flinders St Station, the nearest train station.
